The owner and founder of Avalanche Records and Slope Records, Sebastian Krueger is one of the most requested producers, DJs, and live acts in the international psychedelic progressive trance scene. Under the names Bushbumpas, Tarsis, SBK, Kruger & Coyle, and others, he has released more than 130 tracks on 12 LPs and has played them in almost every corner of the world.

His tracks and remixes have been featured on almost every major psychedelic label in the world, including, to name only a few: Spirit Zone, Global Trance Network, Spiral Trax, Transient, Free Form Records, AP Records, Green Ant Records, Yellow Sunshine Explosion, Leguan Records and others. Some internationally renowned international DJs like John '00' Flemming are consistently featuring SBK in their sets.

This will be his FIRST appearance in Canada, giving Toronto the opportunity to hear his new sound, encompassing the best elements of progressive house and deep psychedelic trance, in an exclusive live set.

SBK's more recent work includes the following impressive releases:

SBK - Treibstoff (2001, Spirit Zone)

This is SBK's first solo effort and the result was an instant classic in the vein of the German minimal progressive sound. Most people in the psy-trance scene will recall the summer hit "Morgenlatte" and all of its various remixes. This track alone was a huge influence in defining the sound of what would become the sub-genre of "morning progressive" at psychedelic festivals throughout Europe.

SBK - Hertzattacke (2002, Spirit Zone)

After the smash success of "Morgenlatte", SBK followed it up with a slightly harder-hitting album. Still with the percussive elements of before, he upped the ante with a few morning dancefloor smashers, and kept the rest of the tracks in the percussive vein. Standout tracks that have appeared on psychedelic compilations include Retro and Demosong. This last track will get tired morning crowds on their feet in no time.

Tarsis - Evolve (2002, Nova Tech)

This album marks the beginning of SBK's journey into sublime psychedelic progressive tapestries. Evolve has it all with groovy progressive rythms, super clean and intelligent percussion and subtle dreamy ambient accents. This really is one of those lesser appreciated early progressive gems which deserves greater attention. Standout tracks include "Lakota" and the title track "Evolve". Most of the rest of this album is simply outstanding as well.

SBK - Borderline (2004, Avalanche Records)

With this album, SBK's sound achieved a new level of dynamic style and composition. The tracks on "Borderline" exhibit SBK's new confidence to blend tribal progressive house rythms with his already impressive knack for deep psychedelic landscapes. This is definitely a new and welcome sound for the psychedelic trance faithful while also attracting attention from the other progressive genres. Standout tracks include the not-to-be-missed dance floor driver "Rubbaworm", and the deep hypnotic "Borderline" but, as with Tarsis - Evolve, the whole album is very strong.

Kreuger & Coyle - Randy Expander (2005, Acid Casualties)

Here, SBK teamed up with Greg Coyle (of Purple Lunar fame - he wrote the banger hit track "Subtle Thrust") to churn out another whole album in the percussive deep-yet-dancey style of "Borderline".

However, the addition of Greg Coyle to the mix appears to bring with it more blatant sex appeal and in-yer-face house elements. It only takes one glance at the cover art and track names to see this, and get a sense for where these guys are coming from with this release. From anyone else, you'd expect to get fun dancey house. From these guys, it transcends house with perfect percussion and incessently hypnotic psychedelic elements. Standout tracks include the genre-crossing hypnotic hit "The Witness Remix" and the intense psycho-builder "Kiwi-Rider".

V/A - Avalanche of Sound Vol. 4 (2005, Avalanche)

There isn't enough to say about this album. Plenty of great tracks here, particularly the fresh and groovy blockbuster SBK - Miles and More.

V/A - Deep Proggy Choons vol. 1 (2005, Slope)

This is the first compilation released on SBK's new progressive house sub-label Slope, which also features SBK's brother making his own mark with a recent release and a bunch of excellent remixes under the moniker Philo. Check out the deep funky psychedelic journeys on tracks like SBK - Deep Down Inside and Kruger & Coyle - Love Juice.

We encourage everyone to take the time to get to know SBK's music to make the experience that much better on May 13th.

Lineup:

Blackkat is a collective of artists, dancers, DJs, and activists that has been throwing parties in New York City since 1996. Our events seek to provide an alternative to mainstream American culture, a culture that is increasingly sexist, racist, classist, nativist, and consumption-oriented. We try to create a community through our events. We try to make them places where people will talk to each other, be inspired, learn something, and have fun. Our events are participatory, they are created not just by the Blackkat collective but by all the people who help us and inspire us and all the people who attend our events. That means you!
Thanks, we’ll see you out there…

BufalOM (Buffalo)
When Afterglow, Freespace and EMP did a stage together at the Om festival, one of our acts was a couple of guys from Buffalo who call themselves Dharma Lab. They were awesome, they fucking rocked it! And they say they’re coming back for Teknival. This time, perhaps with friends and a whole soundsystem?
NEXT OFFENSIVE SOUND STAGE
:::TEKNIVAL:::JULY 11-13, 2003:::

Absoloutely wicked party... Respect to all the soundstages that came together to make this party happen, at times it was less of a party and more of an adventure...

To everyone who was there, thank you for contributing to such a fantastic vibe. Thank you for being so responsible with the way you partied and for cleaning up after yourselves.

Just to let everyone know, the park officials came by on monday morning just to check that we had cleaned the place up and had nothing but good things to say about how responsible and organized this party was. They also said that we are welcome back to use the crown land any time we like! All the DJs spun quality music and kept the party kicking the whole weekend. Special thanks from the Next Offensive sound system goes out to all the DJs who trekked through the wilderness to spin at our stage (especially MC Stylez from Washington who walked for 3 1/2 hours along the forest access road because his ride couldn't make it down the bumpy path)

To those of you who missed this party: you should be kicking yourselves. Just look @ the pictures.

Hope to see everyone back (and more) next year...and way to MaKe SOme fUcKInG noISe!!
The rain is supposed to end by nightfall so the weather should be ok, maybe a little chilly but nothing a few extra layers won't fix...plus we'll have a large bon fire and rumour has is that there'll be about 20 fire spinners/dancers which should be pretty cool to watch. Even if you have other plans, we'll be going quite late (9am or so) so stop by after, before or whenever...

Just in case some don't know, here are the directions:

..follow Cherry St. to it's very end (Cherry St. runs south from lakeshore blvd. and is just west of the dvp....the same street the DOCKS entertainment complex is on)...at the end of Cherry on the left is a gravel driveway leading to a large parking lot, follow the trail that leads into the sumac trees and a GIANT white drum...from there you should hear the music...we'll be in a little clearing to the right of that drum and on the other side of the sumacs...

The Line-up:
Generator (hard funky tech psy-trance)
Pharmakon (full-power/full-on psy-trance)
Urban Aliens (techy progressive minimal psy)
Basilisk (groovy/melodic psy-trance)
more to be confirmed...

As usual we'll also have:
blacklight and uv deco
spooky tree lights
fire pit
2kw sound system
cd give-aways

Remember to bring all the little things that facilitate a long evening of dancing or whatever such as;
blankets to sit on,
extra layers of clothing,
food, drink and other refreshments,
torches or flashlights,
friends,
and party spirit!!

WE should be all set up by around 9.30pm and will be winding things down around 9am. It's supoosed to go down to about 13C that night though that should be fairly comfortable with long sleeves.

So, spread the word and take advantage of what is likely the last opportunity we'll have to party under the stars for a while.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12924967.post-55175226104835266402002-07-05T23:35:00.000-04:002012-01-04T23:36:40.952-05:002002.07.05 - Cosmic Babies Free Open-Air Party[This is a copy of a thread from tranceaddicts about a free party we threw in 2002.]
-----
Posted by dj pharmakon:

silly cops

The po arrived just when the party spirit was climbing (around 1.30). I guess the security patrol in the area got spooked by the completely full parking lot (no joke!) and 350+ people hanging around. The po arrived in full force (10 or 12 of them) and then stood around sort of stupefied at the full-on hippy freak-out that was going on (it was an om renuion it seems). Anyhow they were pretty respectful to the people, though they managed to scare most of them away. I couldn't convince them to let us keep the music going...they wanted us to tear down the gear, so we started moving shit around and looking busy and finally they left (about 45 later)....then we swiftly put it all back up and carried on until about 8.00 when the next shift of po came around (music died for about 10 minutes, they left, music went back on). Yeah, so those 100 or so who had the patience to stick around had a pretty good time...even a bunch of hulla ravers turned up in the morning. I think next time we'll find a lower profile venue...stay tuned

p.s. don't forget to check out our bi-weekly event at Labyrinth Lounge (this friday), featuring psy-trance upstairs and melodic/uplifting trance downstairs...cover is $5Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12924967.post-20459376583251330162002-05-25T23:23:00.000-04:002012-01-04T23:25:14.007-05:002002.05.25 - NEUROMOTOR - 5 HOUR LIVE/DJ set!Don't miss this one!! Join us again the following night (sun. may 20)
for the summer's first
BEACH TRANCE PARTY
@ the end of Cherry St.

No cover, but we are accepting food and money donations for charity.

----- and, posted later on:

First off, I forgot to mention that the sunday night beach party is
being organized by both MDK and C&J!

For any questions/info my email is actually dj_pharmakon@yahoo.ca

BTW, there'll be lots of give-aways for those who come out on
Saturday....I have two new CD's which I'll be giving out (one is
Psy-trance, the other hard trance) and there will be fresh fruit and
candy throughout the night and possibly t-shirt giveaways as well. So
if you're hungry,, lacking clothes or music be sure to stop by.

Other info:
The party will be on the left side of the end of Cherry St. (FOr those
who don't know, Cherry St. is the street that the DOCKS is located
on; follow it to the end and there is a large gravel lot, look to the left of
this lot and you will see a gravel roadway which will take you to
another lot; at the far end of this lot there is some trees and bush, go
through there and follow the music....we'll either be set up just by the
beachfront or we may be set up a little further in from the beach in a
little clearing - either way you'll hear where we are)

The line-up: not completely confirmed but for sure you'll see St. Pete,
Pharmakon, MDK, John D & DAM, etc.

Basically there'll be some Psy-trance, uplifting trance, acid techno
and some more trance

We'd appreciate it if people brought some food donations, barring that
perhaps a buck or two would be nice.....but if you can't then that's OK
too

Time: probably around 10ish until sunrise at least

I hope that's enough info.
p.s. I'll have the set-times for Saturday night posted shortly...little
else needs to be said about saturday, those who've gone will tell you
it's always a sick party with a unique vibe
